The 9th Annual Glotman Simpson Cypress Challenge bike race is open for registration.

The event will take place on Sunday August 14, 2016.  100% of all the money raised goes to the BC Cancer Foundation's Pancreas Centre BC.  In 2015 about 675 cyclists took part, helping to raise over $438,000 for pancreatic cancer research! 

One of the many ways in which Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) fulfills its mandate to support and promote excellence in health research is through its annual Investigator Awards competition.

In the past few months, several investigators were successful in receiving competitive funding to support pancreatic cancer research. 

Pancreas Centre BC together with Pancreatic Cancer Canada held the second education day for patients with pancreatic cancer, their families and supporters on Saturday 5th December.   Over 90 people attended.  

Presentations covered many topics including:

On August 16, 2015, the 8th Annual Glotman-Simpson Cypress Challenge, in memory of Darren Latoski, raised over $400,000 towards pancreatic cancer research. 

This year hosted over 600 riders and 100% of the money raised benefits the BC Cancer Foundation and Pancreas Centre BC.

The event will take place on Sunday 16th August 2015.  100% of all the money raised goes to the BC Cancer Foundation's Pancreas Centre BC.  In 2014 about 625 cyclists took part, helping to raise over $415,000 for pancreatic cancer research! 

The research team led by Dr. Shoukat Dedhar, a distinguished scientist at BC Cancer Agency and a Pancreas Centre BC 2013 IDEAS grant recipient,  was awarded a Canadian Cancer Society Impact Grant for the project entitled ‘New therapeutic strategy targeting tumour hypoxia and carbonic anhydrase IX for the treatment of pancreatic cancer’.

The Pancreas Centre BC is pleased to announce the winners of the recent 2014 IDEAS Grants program competition. This research funding program was made possible by the generous donations from private donors. The centre has received 11 applications and the research advisory committee recommended four proposals for funding. Pancreas Centre BC anticipates that the funds invested into the projects will accelerate leading edge research aimed at understanding and treating pancreatic cancer.
