Pancreas Centre BC held a Pancreatic Cancer Research Symposium on May 29th 2017 at the Diamond Health Care Centre. Over 40 people attended the invitation-only workshop that featured presentations from IDEAS grant holders and other pancreatic cancer researchers as well as trainees from UBC and the BC Cancer Agency. A variety of projects and topics were discussed including those related to new therapeutic targets for pancreatic cancer, novel biomarkers for early detection, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours and personalized medicine. Overall it was an informative and collaborative day for everyone who attended. We aim to hold this educational event annually in order to continue fostering these valuable research projects which are funded through our generous donors.
