Dr. Gorski, a scientist at the BC Cancer Agency, has recently been awarded a two-year Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation – AACR grant for a project focused on the proteogenomic analysis of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs). PNETs are rare tumours but their incidence has been increasing. There are few therapeutic options for advanced PNETs due in part to the limited knowledge of disease subtypes and prognostic biomarkers which would help guide treatment choice and the development of novel therapies. The $250,000 USD grant will support research into the molecular subclasses of PNETs using innovative, first-of-its kind proteogenomics analysis. The project has the potential to identify novel biomarkers, disease pathways and therapeutic targets in PNETs. Congratulations Dr. Gorski and team!
